The Avestan script used in Iran/Persia before Islam and the Perso-Arabic script of today. All liturgical Zoroastrian texts were written in it, whereas most bureaucratic, clerical and political texts were written in Syriac.
Both Avestan and Syriac are in turn based off of Aramaic, however the Avestan script has significant influences from the Gujarati alphabet from the Indian subcontinent.
